Church
* Pray that our Growth Groups will develop, both in numbers and in the depth of fellowship.
* Pray that each one will have a clear vision of how it can reach out to people in the neighbourhood.

Local
* Think of those who provide a chaplaincy service to the council offices and to the students and staff of Croydon College.
* Pray that they will be able to provide a compassionate, listening ear.

International
* Mission Aviation Fellowship and other organisations convey supplies and medical help to people in remote areas.
* Pray for the safety of their flights as, every few minutes, a plane is taking off or landing somewhere around the world.

International
Pray for leaders of the different nations, that God will turn their hearts toward what pleases Him. Pray for the persecuted church that God will give them strength to keep the faith.

National
Thank God for the Olympic Games and the opportunity they will present to the church to reach out with God's love to both the visitors and the British people.

Local
Pray and ask God to raise our young people to be intercessors, peace makers and to be goers.

How grateful for your work in our lives. Thank you that even though you know us better than anyone else, you love us most. Thank you for giving us a new sunrise every twenty four hours. Thank you for hope, for laughter and thank you especially for your grace. May we be models of it more than ever because of the model we have in your Son who is full of grace and truth. In the name of Jesus Chris we thank you.

Church
Pray for us as a church as we continue with our E100 Bible readings.

Pray also for the Homeless Shelter that runs in our church on Friday nights.
Give thanks for all those who volunteer and give up their time for this important role in our community.

Local
Take a moment this week to Pray for your neighbours, especially remembering those who are elderly and who may have been alone during the Christmas period.

International
Monday, January 9, 2012 marked a year since South Sudan held its peaceful referendum on a potential split with Sudan. Seen by many as a turning point in the history of Sudan, 99 per cent of south Sudanese people voted in favour of splitting and on 9 July 2011, South Sudan declared independence and became the worlds youngest country. Six months on, there are still many things to pray for. More than 346,000 people have returned to South Sudan since October 2010 and more are likely to follow. The government faces the challenge of reintegrating them into society, while dealing with issues of nation building, tribal conflicts and improving basic services for citizens. Tearfund works directly in South Sudan, operating in drought and flood-prone areas that suffered greatly during the civil war. We also work with seven partners across the country, undertaking a variety of humanitarian and development projects.

Please continue to pray for a peaceful and stable nation. Pray especially for South Sudans leaders: for wisdom in dealing with ongoing insecurity. Remember those who have returned to South Sudan: ask that God will bless work to meet their needs and reintegrate them into communities. Pray for South Sudans poorest people, in regions where Tearfund works with their partners across South Sudan. Ask that this support will help to strengthen the new nation and be shaped by local priorities and aspirations.

Church
Give thanks to the Lord for his faithfulness
throughout the year

Pray that He will keep us strong to 'run the race'
with our eyes fixed on Him in the coming year

Local
Our local government has plans for the regeneration
of Croydon and our national leaders have difficult
plans to carry forward into next year.

Pray for them all as they work on our behalf.

International
As we approach a time of celebration, remember that
the worst drought in 60 years means that 13 million
people in East Africa are facing desperate food
shortages.

Pray that the distribution of aid to the peoples of
Ethiopia, Somalia and Kenya will be targeted to help
to meet the needs of many and that it will not be
slowed down for any reason.

Church
Pray for our Church meeting next Sunday, when we will be electing new deacons to serve us as a church. Please pray for both Rory Macleod & Tia Baker who have been nominated to stand.

Local
Following on from the riots in Croydon last August continue to pray for those who had businesses destroyed as they try to rebuild them and for all those who lost their homes and possessions as they too rebuild their lives.

International
From Tearfund's Monthly Prayer Diary.

The turning point for Vania's church - situated in a red-light district in Rio de Janeiro was realising that although the church had existed for 86 years, it did nothing for the community. Now the church reaches out to prostitutes and raises awareness of people trafficking. "We've built a relationship," says Vania. "People realise we exist." Pray for Vania and her church as they meet the needs of their community.

When I called, you answered me; you made me bold with strength in my soul - Psalm 138: 3 NKJV

Church

Continue to pray for our young people during these school holidays. Pray for their safety and well being.
Pray especially for those who are awaiting important exam results that they would not be stressed.

Pray for all those involved in the preparations for Reuben's Induction service in September.

Local

Please pray for Tearfund partners working within the UK offering hope to young people and other disenfranchised
groups in some of the urban areas hit by looting and destruction.
They include several partners in south London: Reachin Higher who work with young people and
Action in Communities who assist asylum-seekers, refugees and families in need.
Please pray for all those involved in policing UK streets and preventing new outbreaks of violence.
Ask for safety and wisdom for the staff and volunteers of our UK partners living and working with affected communities.
Pray for leaders at local and national level as they restore order and tackle long-term challenges such as gang culture,
youth unemployment and poor parenting skills.

International
Lift up in prayer all people in Egyptian society who find themselves marginalised.
Pray that their faith may be respected - just as we in the West uphold religious freedom respecting people of other faiths.
Ask that Tearfund partners working with vulnerable sections of the population are able to resume their activities soon.
