It is good to give thanks to the Lord, and to sing praises to your name, O most High; To declare your lovingkindness in the morning, and your faithfulness every night;

Psalm 92 vs 1-2

1 Oh come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation.
6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;

Psalm 95


  • Let us thank God for our various services and activities in WCBC;
  • Let us pray for grace and wisdom from above to guide us as we resume children and youth activities in the building from next month;
  • Let us pray for more labourers for the work of God in WCBC;
  • Pray for healing and restoration for all who are sick - physical, spiritual and mental;
  • Let us pray for all who have been bereaved in WCBC - for God's comfort and strength
  • Pray for God's provisions for all struggling financially or job-wise;
  • Pray for the different age-groups in our church family - children, youths, adults and elderly - that God will reach each group in their areas of need;
  • Pray for our children and youths as they return to school/colleges for a new session, for God's glory and grace upon them, and for protection from peer pressure etc;
  • Pray that God's will be done as we seek a new senior minister;
  • Let us pray down the glory of God upon WCBC - we read Haggai 2:9 and declare it upon WCBC;


  • Let us pray for truth and justice to prevail in our nation;
  • Let us pray that in this new climate of 'no restrictions', God will keep us safe and protected under His shadow;
  • Let us pray Amos 5: 24 upon this nation;
  • Let the glory of God move over this land as the waters cover the sea;
  • Let us pray that a mighty revival will come upon this land and spiritual yokes/barriers be broken in the mighty name of Jesus;
  • Pray for restoration to families and marriages;
  • Pray for economic revival in the land, and that businesses (whether small scale or otherwise) will all be revived;
  • Let Christians everywhere declare the counsel of God with boldness, and not hide our light;

UK government

  • Let us pray for the PM and all in authority in UK, so we may live in quietness and peace with all godliness;
  • Pray for integrity and righteousness by our leaders;
  • Let us pray for Christians in government, in parliament etc - that the light of Jesus will be seen in them as they live as His ambassadors;
  • Let us pray that the fear of God will rule in the heart of our leaders, so they do right;
  • Pray that ungodly laws in this land be cancelled and the fear of God rule everywhere, as we claim this nation for Jesus;
  • Pray for Queen Elizabeth, God's comfort and strength on her and peace in her wider family;

Our World

  • We pray for healing of the nations - physically, economically and spiritually;
  • We pray for an end to transmission of coronavirus and all its variants worldwide in the name of Jesus;
  • We pray for persecuted Christians everywhere - in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Nigeria, India, Pakistan, North Korea and so on;
  • We pray that the light of Christ that has shone upon Japan throughout the weeks of Olympics will continue and revival fire will spread everywhere to bring many to Christ and that the powers of culture and tradition in the land are broken;
  • Pray for the peace of Jerusalem;

Prayer points:
  1. Pray for:
    • The healing of the sick
    • Those in authority to make the right decision during this time of uncertainty with the spike in the new strain of coronavirus
    • Forgiveness
    • Not to harbor offense or rejection
    • the healing of our hearts
    • Restoration and reconciliation
  2. Pray for Mercy and Favour
  3. Breakthrough Prayers for Marriages that are currently facing difficulties.
  1. Pray for a greater understanding of God's love
  2. Pray for believers to walk in God's love towards each other
  3. Pray for the church to have a greater love for the lost
  4. Pray for church leaders to grow in God's love towards their teams, congregations, and the lost.
  5. Pray for the spirit of wisdom and revelation to rest upon the church.
  6. Pray for humble hearts and humility.
    • Pray that the church as a whole will walk in humility towards each other and the lost.
    • Pray for protection for the church against pride and offense.
  7. Pray for the church to fall more in love with Jesus.

Praise the Lord!

  • For his never-ending love, compassion, grace, mercy, and faithfulness.
  • Thank Him for sustaining us through all life's ups and downs.


  • Give thanks that the number of new cases in the UK continues to fall.
  • We would all remain cautious and vigilant as the numbers are still high
  • For those that are very anxious about restrictions being lifted (complex health problems, mental health issues)
  • Businesses and industries to make good recovery
  • Wisdom and insight for scientists and doctors as they research and make recommendations and plan ahead
  • Wisdom for leaders over travel restrictions
  • Vaccine roll out in this country and across the world


  • Olympics/Paralympics.
  • Tokyo's battle with COVID.
  • Inspirational!
  • Mission opportunities
  • Wildfires in Greece. Increase in extreme weather. Climate change issues
  • Any particular countries/issues on our hearts.


  • Leaders of all the nations to work together particularly over COVID and Brexit issues
  • Those struggling and anxious about money and housing
    • Lack of affordable housing and council housing. Extremely poor living conditions.
    • Furlough schemes ending leading to job losses/insecurity
    • Energy price increases
    • Universal Credit to reduce in October
  • Young people during school holidays
  • 10 years since London riots
  • Impact on Croydon still being felt

Our Church

  • Family of Mrs Harvey and all those who have lost loved ones during this season
  • Search for new minister
  • Thanks for all the guest ministers and speakers over the last 18 months
  • All to be committed to enquiring of the Lord as we move forward together
