Friday 27 May 22

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
Ephesians 1 v3

It is not easy to grasp all that being blessed with every spiritual blessing really means. Let us pray for a fuller understanding and give thanks that it is wonderfully true.

  • Pray that children will continue to be back at church on a Sunday, and that they will enjoy their time in Kidzone and receive teaching that will stay with them as they get older
  • As adults, too, return to our gathering, pray that they we will all be willing to share in the many tasks that need to be done
  • The architects have identified much that needs to be done to the building. May we have the funds to do what is necessary

  • Remember our new mayor and councillors in the work that is before them.
Pray that what they do will be for the good of the borough and its residents
  • Council staff are trying to provide basic services in difficult circumstances.
Let us pray that they will be able to do what is required
  • Our town is supported by its different emergency services and would run into real problems without them.
May they have good success in the duties they perform

  • Thank God for those who serve as MPs.
In these difficult financial times, pray that they will be given the wisdom and ability to respond with policies that will really benefit those in particular need
  • As the USA has just had its 27th school shooting of the year, pray for those who have lost a family member. And that a way forward with the reform of gun law will be found
  • The war in Ukraine threatens to lead to food shortages in different parts of the world; but, for the people of that country, is about a lot more than food.
Pray for Ukraine, its leadership and its people
  • There are many parts of the world that do not have the Bible in their own language.
Pray for the ongoing work of translators as they seek to make God's word available in translations that people can readily understand

Friday 20 May 22

1 I love you, Lord!
You answered my prayers.
2 You paid attention to me,
and so I will pray to you
as long as I live.

Psalm 116:1-2

  • For the sunshine we have been able to enjoy recently
  • God's promises in his Word, which reminds us that we are the chosen children of God
  • Giving praise for our new minister Rev Larbi and Jemima his wife
  • For the opportunities for spiritual growth (corporate & individual), and new ministries that can come
  • For jobs, incomes, homes and other possessions

  • Those in need of healing (physical, spiritual, emotional)
  • Those in need of comfort because they may be feeling lonely, forgotten, isolated, a sense of loss
  • Those in need of provision (facing hard times and in a season of lack)
  • Our children studying for exams and feeling anxious
  • Help to be "our brother's keeper" and love one another

  • Giving thanks for the effectiveness of church groups and networks such as KIVI, who are passionate about ushering people into God's kingdom
  • The success of upcoming events and regular weekly activities (more people to receive salvation)
  • Praying that we may also share that passion for lost souls and get involved
  • Praying that we may see the opportunities that present themselves, and for the boldness to share the gospel in love
  • For God's equipping for us to be 'salt & light' in our day-to-day activities - at work, home, play

  • Praying for organisations who advocate for churches and Christians around the world (CSW, Release International, Open Doors)
  • Praying for protection and peace for those Christians persecuted or discriminated against for their faith, yet still stand strong
  • Governments and authorities to legislate for and encourage tolerance

Friday 13 May 22

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
And if we know that he hears us-whatever we ask-we know that we have what we asked of him.

1 John 5:14-15

The church must always pray and stand firm on the word of God.
We have to be faverent with our prayers.
Crucially, we as individuals and part of the body of Christ should always pray for the church and the people.

  1. Prayer of thanksgiving.
  2. Prayer for the new chapter of our church.
  3. Prayer for Ukraine so the current unrest can come to an amicable end.
  4. Prayer for direction and guidance in our work with Christ. Pray for renewed vision and direction for the church.
  5. Prayer for revival and mercy so the fire of the Holy spirit can be rekindled in our church.
  6. Prayer for God's will to be done on earth and in our lives.
  7. Prayer for continued boldness and miracles during this time.
  1. Prayer for God's strength and fullness in our walk with him.
  2. Prayer of total healing of mind, body and soul.
  3. Prayer for God's revelation so we can derive further insight into the scriptures and clarity of our spiritual understanding.
  4. Prayer for the church congregation and individuals to know God's will at this time.
  5. Prayer for love for one another and fruitfulness.
  6. Prayer for spiritual hunger so our passion for the holy word can continue to be reignited.
  7. Prayer for those in authority at church and in government.
