LET US PRAY - Ephesians 6:18 - NIV
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people.

ALWAYS FIRST GIVING THANKS - Psalm 107:21 - NIV

Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind.

UK LEADERSHIP - NEW PRIME MINISTER

  • Praying for those in authority that God will direct their hearts and minds
  • Asking for God's direct intervention in the voting for the new Prime Minister
  • Asking for God's direct intervention in the appointment of MPs
  • For leaders who uphold truth, integrity, justice - even if it's not popular
  • God's wisdom, discernment, knowledge....

GLOBAL WARMING

  • Remembering that we are tasked to be stewards of God's world and its resources - help us Lord
  • Unusual weather, although good for some... disaster for others - floods, wild fires ect
  • Climate justice which seeks to help the poorer countries who suffer the most, with appropriate aid

RDC /MIGRANT SITUATION

  • As the RDC transitions to a new format in keeping with the space and resources available going forward
  • For those RDC guests that may be in need during August when the centre will be closed (except for food parcels)
  • Those involved in the clear up and packing away of clothing and other items
  • Migrants still arriving, desperate for a new life, despite the new agreement with Rwanda

REST & RELAXATION

  • Thank God for periods of well needed rest (Psalm 23)
  • For those on holiday or planning to have some time out with the family
  • That their travel plans will not be disrupted in any way

OUTREACH/EVANGELISM

  • Lord give us an eagerness to spread the gospel
  • Holy spirit helping us to see the opportunities
  • Engaging with behaviour that is full of love, speech seasoned with salt and full of grace
  • God's blessing on events such as the KIVI storming on 30th July and at the one at New Life Christian Centre .

PERSECUTED CHURCH IN THE UK

  • Christians persecuted at their places of work
  • Christians persecuted during street evangelism
  • Organisations like Christian Concern who work tirelessly to achieve justice for such individuals

Psalm 90: 1-2
A prayer of Moses the man of God.

1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place
throughout all generations.
2 Before the mountains were born
or you brought forth the whole world,
from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.

Christian witness

  • Franklin Graham at the ExCel Centre on 16th July.
  • That the Gospel will be clearly heard, and many come to faith in Jesus.
  • For all the preparation required to bring things together on the day.
  • For the security of the event and the safety of all who attend.

The Government

  • That integrity and honesty will be restored to it.
  • The Conservative Leadership elections taking place - Pray for God's hand upon it.
  • For the ongoing work of the Government during this period.

Croydon

  • Pray for God to move mightily in this town.
  • For the Mayor of Croydon.
  • For the continued development of the town centre.
  • For the Council to be wise in its spending.
  • Pray for the Church to be a witness within the town.
  • For men, women, and children to come to Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

World events

  • To continue to pray for peace and an end to the war in Ukraine.
  • To pray for other nations and situations that are close to your heart.
  • To pray for Zimbabwe which has inflation of almost 200%.
  • Zimbabwean doctors and nurses are on strike because the Government has no money to pay them.
  • There are reports of Zimbabwean youth who are unemployed becoming addicted to unconventional substances in a bid to get high.

The Church

  • The Women of Faith meeting on Zoom taking place on Saturday 16/07/22.
  • For our new minister - Denzil.
  • For members to step forward within the Church, to support the Church and its ministries within it.
  • For the Church members meetings especially as quorums need to be met in order for meetings to go ahead.
  • Pray for the continued ministry each week through the services.
  • Pray for the continued work of the CRDC.

Jeremiah 29 vv 13+14
If you will seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you, declares the Lord

With war, famine, disease and political upheaval in many places, God continues to shake our world. Let us pray for:

Christian witness

such as that of Franklin Graham at the ExCel Centre on 16th July

  • that the Gospel will be gladly heard and many come to faith in Jesus
  • for all the preparation required to bring things together on the day
  • for the security of the event and the safety of all who attend

The Government

as it comes to the end of a very difficult week

  • that integrity and honesty will be restored to it
  • that it will be able to take steps to counter the spiral of rising prices
  • that there will be an end to the passing of laws that go against God's ways for a nation

World leaders

  • integrity and honesty for them
  • particular situations in their own countries
  • their response to the situation in Ukraine

Nigeria

Just one country of many where the persecution of Christians by extremists in on the increase

  • that God will strengthen those who live with the threat of persecution and death and comfort those who have been bereaved
  • that governments and security forces will be able to successfully combat extremist terrorism
