The film also shares briefly where CSW have seen some positive developments and progress in their work advocating for persecuted believers
They hope this short film encourages the church and that you know how deeply thankful they are for our continued support. It is because of our support, that CSW collectively can continue to help persecuted believers who are facing an increased impact due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is with great sadness that we write to inform you of the passing of our dear Peter Hall who went to be with the Lord around midnight on Saturday 23rd January 2021.
Following his retirement from the Croydon Refugee Day Centre Peter was diagnosed with lung cancer and more recently contracted the C-19 virus. Peter understood what was happening to him and was at peace with it.
We know that Peter will be sorely missed by all. Please can we keep his family in prayer, particularly his wife, Jackie, who is still in hospital recovering from the virus. We pray that God will comfort Jackie and their children as they face the early stages of their grieving process in isolation.
Peter lived his life serving others. He impacted more lives than we could ever recount. I strongly believe the Lord has called Peter home saying "Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord." (Mat 25:21).
From Sunday 8th November, church gatherings will not be in the sanctuary in line with the new government guidelines.
Services will be available from 10am here, our YouTube channel or on phone each Sunday.
We hope to resume services in the church sanctuary once the current lockdown period has ended.
Booking is now open for gatherings in September!
You will also find information about what to expect when you arrive at church.
We are pleased to announce that Sunday gatherings will resume in September!
Sunday 6th September 2020 will be our first service.
We will be observing government guidelines including social distancing measures.
This means that the number of people that can be at the service will be quite limited.
We will be using a booking system to help manage this.
Details about how to book and the safety measures and new procedures that are being put in place will follow in the coming weeks.
Thank you to all those that have taken time to complete our recent survey.
We are excited about welcoming worshippers back into our church building and we're looking forward to this new phase in the life of our church and all that God is going to be doing in Croydon, our country and the world.
Our very first Transform Croydon Prayer meeting via zoom is going to take place on August 12 from 7:30-8:45pm
It will be a great opportunity for the whole church to join together across the borough without having to worry about social distancing.
Churches and networks have been praying faithfully throughout lockdown, but there is power and promise in unity.
Many issues need our prayers at this time as our churches begin to navigate their way out of lockdown: Equality and justice; How to support those in mourning or suffering from poor mental health and, of course, Croydon's economic future, following the closure of John Lewis and Debenhams.
Here is the link to the meeting: please put the date in your diary and we will look forward to seeing you there.

National Day of Prayer broadcast – 7pm Sunday
Dear church family,
Following the new government guidelines and having sought advice from the Baptist Union of Great Britain (BUGB), we have decided to suspend all our usual services and activities for the safety of everyone.
Closing the building does pose challenges and we’ve been discussing and exploring new ways that we can remain connected and support each other at this time. The situation regarding COVID-19 has changed very quickly over the last few days so we ask that you bear with us as we seek to put things in place.
This website will be the place to get the latest information. We know not everyone in our community is online so we ask that you help to pass this information on to others who could miss out.
On the website you can already find most of our talks from past services, including the most recent ones, which you can listen to at any time. You can request a talk to be put on CD for anyone who is unable to listen online.
We are planning to have a weekly reflection area with a Bible reading and prayer points.
The church now has a YouTube channel!
We are hoping to begin to use this to provide a simple service or sermon in the coming weeks. Again, please bear with us and continue to check the website for updates.
We ask growth group leaders to think of ways that their groups can stay connected. Do contact the church leadership if you need help with that.
If you are struggling for any reason at this time, feeling low, isolated or vulnerable, or know of someone who may be, please contact us.
Call 020 8689 4527 (leave a message if necessary) or email the leadership via office@westcroydon.com and someone will get back to you.
Though the church building may be closed for a season, we must remember that the building is not the church – we are! Now more than ever we need to come together as a community to support each other and be the hands and feet of Jesus to those around us.
‘Trust in the Lord always, the Lord God is the eternal rock’. Isaiah 26 v4
God bless.
